Revenge suicide
One form of revenge suicide is where the person has been hurt or rejected by people who are important, in his or her life, and believes that suicide will enable to take revenge on those who were responsible for 'driving' him or her to their death.Powerless people who lack an effective, more direct way of influencing the behaviour of others, are the most likely to commit revenge suicide. These powerless people are often women.
Another form of revenge suicide is suicide bombings and the like, where the person, kills himself in order to kill those he sees as his enemies.
Guilt suicide
When someone commits an act or crime that harms another person in some way, this can result in feelings of shame and guilt. Crimes such as violent and sexual crimes produce the highest rates of guilt suicide.Romantic suicide
This is most celebrated among the young, who may see themselves as star-crossed lovers as in Romeo and Juliet. It can also be where one partner has been abandoned in some way, such as death or separation, by a loved one.Headline suicide
This is when someone wants to go out in a blaze of glory believing that nothing grabs attention like a suicide attempt. The "Make Believe" Suicide
While people sometimes die or are maimed from their attempts, the intention in this case is to generate guilt in the other person, and the practitioner generally intends a non-fatal result.
"Escape" suicide
Suicide is seen as an escape from what feels hopeless and unbearable. People who are subjected to harassment or victimisation and children who are bullied, usually become depressed. They are at risk of committing suicide in order to escape the bullying or harassment, seeing no other way out.
